Temecula is Awesome!
Been 10 months now and we can safely say we have found our place in the world.
Good schools, good neighborhood, wineries, Parks and the list goes on.

WORTH A MILLION BUCKS
I have been really bad. I have not updated this thing in months. But I must say a lot has gone on in those many months. Some good some bad and somewhere in between those times was just filled with life.
To start it all off WE ARE MOVING. I know we have been talking about Eugene Oregon a whole lot but I think Temecula California may have got the winning vote. Well I am pretty sure it got the winning vote since Julie is going to start her job in less than 2 weeks at Rancho Physical Therapy.
We miss the idea of moving to Eugene and living in a more forest type setting. But after visiting Temecula I think we will learn to adjust. Temecula just seems like the place to be and after corresponding with a few people online that have already made the jump we really can’t wait.
An update on Ava. She has had her 4th birthday and luckily at home. She has made a 95% recovery from her necrotizing pneumonia that caused her to be hospitalized for 2 weeks. 2 chest tubes, 1 surgery countless IV attempts (pokes), blood draws, X-rays, CAT scans and 1 PICC line later she is doing great.
Our 2 week stay was at Santa Monica UCLA. And I will say that is really a GREAT bunch of people. The PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) was really second to none. Well I don’t know how to qualify that statement since that is the first PICU I have ever been in and hope it will be my last. But I can confidently say those were the nicest, outgoing and professional staff anyone can ask for.
Doctor James Lin was also awesome in the fact he really told us things the way they were. In retrospect we can tell they withheld A LOT of extra information that was not really a need to know. DR Lin kind of reminded me of President Obama in the sense he always chose his words carefully and after talking to us we felt fully informed.
Its amazing how fast this really hit us. Very scary stuff, and the other weird thing is they never were able to tell us what the bacteria caused all this trouble. I mean for the whole 2 weeks we were by her bedside. It was exhausting for us and would have traded places with her in a second. That is the worse feeling in the world watching your 3 year old daughter have to go through all that. And let me tell you it was no walk in the park for the grandparents or other family either. We were very lucky to have them by our side.
Anyway she is doing VERY well and will be getting her PICC line out this Thursday. And that means no more IV medicine. And that also means Ava will be able to get on the road to forgetting anout this whole experience. But I will say I will never forget it.
Last weekend Ava and I built a birdhouse. It came out pretty good with a nice paint job as you can see. But it was missing a little something.
Well its not missing anything now……..
